“In my ideal world I would live in a diamond”
Gabriela HermaGabriela Herma hails from a Polish-Italian heritage and operates as a Fine Art Photographer based in London. Her creative endeavours draw inspiration from her immediate surroundings and are guided by her initial emotional responses.
Each photograph she produces conceals profound meaning and emotions, which she invites the viewers to delve into, encouraging them to perceive beyond the surface.
Gabriela’s photographs are meticulously printed on metal and subsequently enriched with resin and a medley of mixed mediums, including Swarovski crystals, shattered mirrors, and glittering dust.
Through this process, her photographs capture moments of emotion, bringing them to life by layering them with multiple reflective elements. This accentuates the palpable reality of natural details and infuses them with a vibrancy that entices the viewer to immerse themselves in the scene and relive the captured moment.
One of Gabriela’s most significant works is “Giulia,” which depicts a crimson dragonfly that she had the pleasure of encountering while on vacation in Marbella, Spain. The dragonfly seemed to flirt with Gabriela’s artistic senses, silently but purposefully beckoning to be captured through her lens. The dragonfly symbolizes themes of change, transformation, adaptability, and self-realization. “Giulia” serves as a representation of Gabriela’s own internal growth, which has led her to focus on the most essential aspect of her work: light.
Gabriela’s works perceive the world through the prism of a diamond, where everything is interconnected by brilliance and sparkles, with an array of colours evolving constantly through her new artworks.
